Girish Puthenchery passed away 2010-02-10 11:02:01 Admired and famous Malayalam movie rhymester Girish Puthenchery passed away at a classified hospital here tonight subsequent a cerebral blood loss. Besides writing lyrics for several hit songs, Girish had also scripted films like "Vadakkunnathan" and "Pallavoor Devanarayanan". Beginning his career in the 1990 film " Enquiry", Girish went on to write lyrics for more than 2,500 songs in over 300 Malayalam films. Girish was presently writing the script of a film called "Raman Police". He also served as a governing council member of the Indian Performance Rights Society (IPRS). He was born to Pulikkal Krishna Panicker and Meenakshiyamma in Puthenchery near Ulliyeri village in Kozhikode district.
