IFFK 2012: Deepa Mehta's love affair.

The International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK 2012 ), is receiving rave reviews. Deepa Mehta too joins the bandwagon and has expressed her love for the festival. She finds the fest as a reflection of Kerala's passion for cinema. The crowded venues are a source of great amazement for Deepa Mehta. She consider it her honour that 'Midnight's Children's first premiere is at IFFK 2012  in front of Malayali audience. Her love affair with IFFK 2012  started three years ago when her 'Fire' was screened here. 'Water' followed which was well appreciated by all. 'Midnight's Children' is the third movie to be screened at IFFK 2012 . IFFK 2012  each year is an experience that she'll hate to miss
I'm not a feminist, Deepa Mehta at IFFK 2012
Deepa Mehta, often hailed as a powerful female presence in a male dominated industry, refuses to be labeled a feminist. She wants to be known as a humanist filmmaker. When it comes to art and creativity differentiating works based on gender is not a healthy practice, feels the internationally acclaimed filmmaker.

  1. This was the first time I was attending IFFK and I was carried away by the spirit of the festival. The selection of movies is quite good, and the town seems full of people wearing delegate passes and the trademark IFFK jute bag!
