The opening ceremony of the 2012 IFFK 2012  was one of the most memorable events ever organised in the history of IFFK 2012 . With such a fantastic beginning, the expectations are high for the closing ceremony. The closing ceremony of the 17th edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK 2012) is all set to fulfill the expectations. In an exclusive talk with metromatinee.com, T. K. Rajeev Kumar, the brain behind the opening and closing ceremony revealed the programme for the closing ceremony. 'It will be very special. Audience will participate in the program which is inspired from the Thappattam, a unique art form', Rajeev Kumar said. Metromatinee.com was granted permission to watch the practice at the Vailopilly Samskrithi Bhavan. The program is conceived as a 'journey of rhythm'. Joy Mathew's 'Shutter' is getting rave reviews at the 2012 IFFK 2012 . The screening of the movie at the 17th edition of IFFK 2012  saw huge crowd thronging the venue to watch the movie. The film did not leave the audience disappointed  Delegates received the movie with much applause and appreciation. Moreover, as of now, it is 'Shutter' that has topped the audience poll. The film in the competition that receives the maximum amount of votes will receive the audience prize-the Rajatha Chakoram and 2 lakh cash prize. 'Shutter' is creating quite a wave at the festival. Another film that attracted much attention at the film fest is 'Filmisthan'. Its a very powerful feel to see virtually unknown people shoot to fame in a matter of hours at the IFFK 2012 . IFFK 2012 : The Vibrant Volunteers of Festival Office IFFK 2012 Not many would take much notice of the team working to ensure that the audience get a clear idea regarding the programs organised at the 2012 IFFK 2012 . The MC Management team is doing a good job compering for the various functions. They are all college students from various parts of the city. A grooming session was organised for the team to prepare them for the IFFK 2012. Only one among them, Chinnu has prior experience in compering. She has anchored a few shows for the television. 'The training was very intense. Even though everybody here no experience doing this before, the grooming has turned all into proffesionals', says Chinnu. The grooming session was handled by Radhakrishnan, Govind and Leela Panickar. 'We have trained them to handle any kind of situation at the festival. There were many practice sessions. Videos were of these sessions were taken and mistakes corrected accordingly', said Radha

The main speakers for paying homage at the 2012 IFFK 2012 were Shyamaprasad, Priyadarshan, Menaka, T. V. Chandran, T. K. Rajeev Kumar etc. Mastero T. Damodharan was remembered at the function. His careful research in historical details before doing a film and his passion for the work he does were remembered. Chandramathi Balan talked about Thilakan. She remembered his commitment to the craft. 'For the shoot of 'Moonampakkam', three days before the shoot began, Thilakan visited Nagercoil and walked miles in the interior villages to get into the skin of the character', reminscised Chandrika. There was a huge crowd to watch the three Malayalam movies which were screened yesterday. The three movies were 'Aakashatinte Niram' by Dr. Biju, 'Bhoomiyude Avakashikal' by T. V. Chandran and 'Shutter' by Joy Mathew. The fist two movies were screened in the competition section of IFFK. Delegates had to stand or sit on the floor and watch the movie for lack of space. The much awaited premiere of Deepa Mehta's 'Midnight Children' will be tomorrow. The IFFK organisers have announced a change in venue for the film's screening. The show will be at Anjali theatre at night, the 4th show. "Ivan's 'Woman" which was originally scheduled at Anjali has been shifted to Kairali. Talking about the technicalities of film making, Dr Biju opined that it was high time that live sound recording was introduced in Malayalam films.  T. V. Chandran's 'Bhoomiyude Avakaashikal' which was screened yesterday got a rousing reception at the IFFK. There was a huge crowd at the venue with delegates thronging to watch the movie. The number of people swelled so much that it exceeded the maximum capacity. Many saw the film standing and sitting on the floor of Kairali theatre. It certainly was a lively crowd who expressed their reaction to each scene vociferously.
