The state film awards for 2010 would be declared today. As of ever Mohan Lal and Mammootty are in the race for the best actor award. Mammootty is being considered for his performance in 'Pazhassi Raja', 'Loud Speaker' & 'Palerimanikyam Oru Pathira Kolapathakathinte Katha'. Mohan Lal has got only one cinema to his credit with strong performance. But film critics point out that the superstar has really lived in 'Brahmaram'. Apart from the superstars Jagathy Sreekumar and Innocent are too being considered for best actor for their roles in 'Ramayanam' and 'Patham Nilayile Theevandi' respectively. Those being considered for the best actress include Padma Priya, Kaniha and Swetha Menon.' Pazhassi Raja' by Hariharan, which leads in the best cinema category also has stamped a strong presence in the best supporting actor category, with Manoj K Jayan and Sharat Kumar in contention. The going is tough for the best film with ' Palerimanikyam' , 'Brahmaram', 'Kerala Cafe', 'Soofi Paranja Kadha' too filling the space apart from Pazhassi Raja.
